Welcome to the website of the Oxford University French Society.

The French Society is Oxford’s cultural, political and social centre for promoting francophone culture.  We pride ourselves on offering a wide range of events to suit all tastes and interests, and regularly offer film nights, guest speakers, debates, concerts, and drinks and conversation evenings to members and non-members of the society alike.  Our primary aim is to act as a vibrant forum where like-minded students can meet outside of academic work.

The society was founded in 2003 and has since expanded widely, attracting both French-speaking and non French-speaking students.  The French Society also holds events in association with related University societies and organisations, such as the Maison Française, the European Affairs Society and the History Society.
